Question: I hear that divorce lawyers and estate planning lawyers are swamped during the Corvid-19 quarantine. Is this true?

Answer:  I can’t speak for divorce lawyers. It does stand to reason, that couples being cooped up can have positive or negative effects. (re-read in nine months, during the quarantine baby boom). As for Estate Planning lawyers, you may be surprised.

Like all industries, we saw a week to week progression. Early on, folks were more concerned with toilet paper. However, as a few weeks have passed, more people are using their time at wisely. While I have seen a higher volume of inquiries, I wouldn’t say we are swamped. We can certainly handle more calls, video conferences and “drive-up” signings.

This unique time brings more time and availability to accomplish a Will or Trust. Even more important, folks are paying attention to their affairs. (I even investigated my blood type – which I never knew). In my experience, Time + Attention = Results.

Scheduling a free consultation with an Estate Planning lawyer gives peace of mind and is much easier than expected. It’s worth twenty minutes of your lockdown time.
